Austin Overnight 2010 was the perfect way to kick-off Trilogy’s overnight Texas campaign. Southwest University was the perfect host (despite the long lines of girls basketball players at breakfast, lunch and dinner), and our camper attendance list was filled with players from all over the southwestern United States including, among others, Lafayette, Louisiana, San Antonio, Texas, Tulsa Oklahoma and Monument, Colorado.
For five, lacrosse/fun-filled days we battled the heat, the occasional sleep-in/missed roll call (You know who you are) and one or two Gatorade and Fruit Snack shortages at the camp store (sorry Gernert boys) to put together a pile of good memories and one of Trilogy’s best overnight camp experiences yet. Across both age groups—the Canons and Machine—we saw considerable improvement, especially among our four goal-tenders, Reagan, Thomas,
Lane and Andy, and our scrimmages never failed to live up to the competitive hype (even Coach Stiffler’s team managed a victory or two). Among the many highlights of camp, however, the one that perhaps stands out the most, is the raffle, in which more than a few players were burned by the Mystery Box, while a select few managed to come away with the goodies they were hoping for…and who can forget the Gold Fish and the miraculous golden ticket located with in.
Much thanks to all those who traveled far (and some not so far) to camp this year. Big ups to the crew at Southwestern, they were gracious hosts, and of course, to all the players who came to camp…the enthusiasm, energy and excitement you guys brought to the field rocked! Can’t wait for the summer of 2011.
