Gary Gadek
“I chose to coach lacrosse in order to pass along all that the sport has given to me. Growing up, I thought that the goals I scored in games were the most important ones in my life. I had no idea that lacrosse would allow me to achieve the important goals in my life. Lacrosse has allowed me to build lifelong friendships, acquire a quality education, and to travel the world. But the most important goal that lacrosse has allowed me to achieve is to learn a great deal about myself. I have learned that the only person who can truly push you to achieve excellence in life is yourself. Whether, you are practicing your shot an extra 50 times before you quit for the day, reading those extra chapters at night before you put your books away, or approaching each day as an opportunity to do something positive in your life. When you push yourself as opposed to someone "making" you practice or study you will reach your true potential. Because only you know the point where you have given something your all. You always know deep inside if you have that little extra to give. And lacrosse has taught me to find that. It is that little extra that I have found in myself that has allowed me to excel on the lacrosse field, in my job and in all the relationships I have in my life. It is this little extra that I hope to help others find within themselves...”
